The downward slide has begun

To get to our new house, one has to make a left-hand turn onto our street from a relatively busy highway. Usually it’s fine, but sometimes there are total wankers on the road and it can be a bit scary. TOTAL WANKERS. I’m just saying.

Anyway, when I don’t feel safe stopping on the highway (in order to wait for oncoming traffic to pass) and making that turn, I have an elaborate plan for getting myself turned around so I can make a right-hand turn instead.

As I wailed to Miranda in an e-mail:

I’m gonna be one of those old ladies that never makes left turns!

This is what the aggressive, self-involved, idiot drivers are reducing me to… a downward slide to becoming an old lady that drives around the world to the right. And I’ll probably never turn off my blinker, either.
