Rockin’ the 70′s Crochet Pinafore
A few years ago, my parents cleaned out their garage and sent me pretty much everything that had anything to do with me. I got rid of a bunch of stuff and kept one bin that now contains a few items of clothing, a couple of dolls (remember the vinyl Kewpie dolls?) and teddy bears, my old glasses, and so forth.
And then there is this. I do not remember ever wearing this, but I must have.
I can’t stop staring at it.

I had one of those! In my memory (my mom must have burned it) it looks just like that. My grandma probably used the same pattern.
As soon as you teach me how to crochet squares, I am SOOOO making Veronica one of these. Ha. I couldn’t stop admiring it Saturday either. Lame me didn’t actually mention it to you, but TOTALLY LOVE IT!!!!!
Next time we get together, I’ll show you!
SO GLAD you posted this picture. I actually have the Better Homes and Gardens January 1973 article on how to make this. I had one too and wanted to make one for a friend who just had a baby. The instructions for the last square are pretty wierd, and the picture is too small (and black and white). Hopefully with your picture I can figure it out!!
How COOL that you have the actual pattern!
If I can help with any further photos, just let me know, I’d be happy to take some and send via e-mail.
Who do ya think made this? Maybe your wonderful grandmother? I love it.
