   I was curious how the cats and the chickens are getting along. Is it always a “standoff”?

   Hi there! I don’t think the chickens know the cats could be a threat, and I think they’d come into the house if I let them. The cats are very interested in the hens and would very much like to go outside and investigate. I keep the door firmly closed between them.

   How have you been? I haven’t heard from you in some time, have I?
