At the nursery several weeks ago, I was drawn in by a display of air plants and pretty glass planters. A hanging planter is pretty much a necessity in this house, what with the three cats who like to get into EVERYTHING THEY SHOULDN’T. Ahem.

Me and plants don’t generally get along, but hey, a plant that doesn’t need soil? Sign me up.

Haven’t killed it yet, and it’s starting to bloom:

These sweet flowers are in big blue pots on my front porch. I found the first tulip in our yard today — not quite open, but any minute now. The magnolia tree is covered in pink blossoms, the daffodils and forsythia have been giving us beautiful yellow color all over the yard for a few weeks now, and pink and purple hyacinth have joined them.

Welcome spring!

We love the time change. I realize there are people who hate it… sorry… but we love the extra hours of daylight after the workday is over.

The chickens, well, I think the chickens need a whole other post of their own. They’re crazy.

Giant Dutch Crocus

Took this shot yesterday evening — have I mentioned how much I love daylight savings? These beauties are out by our mailbox and between the light at that time of day and the color of these flowers, they look kind of unreal. We also have yellow daffodils, both small and large. I don’t know what types they are.
